Saint Padre Pio was born in Italy in 1887. His life was dedicated to sacrifices in order to follow the path of Sainthood. In 1918, while praying the "Liturgy of the Hours", he received the visible stigmata. His wounds caused him mild pain and the blood that came out of them did not clot. Padre Pio would spend up to 18 hours in the confessional. He was unmarried and everything he did, he did for love. He died on September 23, 1968. On this day, in various parts of the world, there are prayer groups for Padre Pio.
