This Chaplet of Divine Mercy in Wood is a Catholic religious devotion based on the apparitions that Saint Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938) received from the Merciful Jesus. This devotion consists of reciting a set of ejaculations dictated by Christ, through the use of a common rosary.
Saint Faustina Kowalska was a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy and was canonized in 2000 by Pope John Paul II. She reported in her diary that she received prayers through visions and conversations with Jesus Christ. Faustina wrote that the purpose of the rosary prayers is threefold: to obtain mercy, to trust in Christ's mercy, and to show mercy to others.
Jesus granted Sister Faustina great graces: the gift of contemplation; profound knowledge of the mystery of Divine Mercy; visions; revelations; hidden stigmata; the gift of prophecy and of reading human souls; as well as the rarely found gift of mystical espousals, as stated in the introduction to the Diary.
We present the new Chaplet of Divine Mercy, with the application of images of Merciful Jesus and Saint Faustina.
