Description
In the fourth chapter of the Gospel of Luke, we find the passage in which Jesus is tempted in the desert. On that occasion, He undergoes three trials: in the first, He experiences hunger; in the second, He is tempted by power; and, in the third, in light of the second, He is urged to use power to harm the dignity of the Creator.
Inspired by this, Célia Alves Cardoso speaks in a sensitive and frank way about the different types of deserts we go through in life, where we find ourselves alone in the face of problems and with the feeling that God has forgotten us.
This work, therefore, aims to be a kind of advisor, by showing that reality can be different from the perception we have of our truth, and also that, during life, this same perception of the environment and events tends to determine what kind of life (experience) we will have.
In this sense, the connection between Jesus' desert and the "deserts" (difficulties and renunciations) of us, the faithful, would effectively convey the purpose of this book.
