São Bento Pedestal

The medal of Saint Benedict is the medal of the Holy Cross. In the 11th century, in Germany, the wife of an earl dreamed that a man spoke to her in a dream, saying that her son Bruno would be a great man. Some time later, this same boy became very ill and saw the image of a man who placed a cross on his lips and cured him.

The man of the dream and the vision was Saint Benedict. From then on, the medal of this saint began to be minted and his devotion spread throughout the world. The sacramental is attributed to the saint, but the power lies in the cross of Christ, feared by the devil, and in the faith of each Christian.
