Book Catechism of the Spiritual Life

To restore God's place in our lives and in the life of the Church, Cardinal Robert Sarah proposes no other path than that of the Gospel: the seven sacraments through which Christ touches us today form the framework of this spiritual journey to which the Cardinal invites us, in language marked by authenticity and missionary strength.

"It seemed to me that the eclipse of God in our postmodern societies, the crisis of fundamental human and moral values, and their repercussions also in the Church, where there is confusion about divinely revealed truth, the loss of the authentic meaning of the liturgy, and the obscuring of priestly identity, strongly demanded that a true catechism of spiritual life be offered to all the faithful. Let there be no mistake about this title. I have not sought to write a summary of the entire Christian faith.

We have at our disposal the Catechism of the Catholic Church and its Compendium, which remain irreplaceable instruments for the teaching and study of all the doctrine revealed by Christ and preached by the Church. This book is a catechism of interior life. Its purpose is to indicate the main means of entering into spiritual life, with a practical rather than academic objective.
