Using her little sister's three notebooks as a starting point, Mother Agnes of Jesus skillfully crafted a coherent biography, *Histoire d'une Âme*, demonstrating true editorial talent. To this end, she employed various techniques: rewriting the text itself, through additions, cuts, and classifications, not to mention countless stylistic refinements; dividing the Teresa of Avila's text into eleven chapters; and inserting a prologue evoking the family's origins and an epilogue describing her illness and death.
