The organism of Christian Life is constituted by sanctifying grace, a supernatural reality that transforms the soul and elevates it above all natural beings, making man a participant in the divine nature, destroying the enmity that existed due to original sin.

From this grace come the infused virtues: the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity, and the moral virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance. The theological virtues unite us directly to God, and the moral virtues function to remove obstacles, providing practical means to lead us to God.
